the superstructure with a white Carrera marble rectangular top and gilt-bronze open gallery above four frieze drawers, the cylinder opening to reveal four open pigeon holes and four drawers, the writing slide with dark brown gilt-tooled leather inset above a long drawer flanked by one drawer on either side with further storage compartments, with slides on each side inset with dark brown gilt-tooled leather, resting on square tapering legs, some mounts replaced, apparently stamped
