Since 2002 the Brown-Forman Co., the owner of Old Forester, has released a limited-edition bourbon to mark the birthday of one of its founders, George Garvin Brown. Each year varies in age, warehouse location, proof, and number of barrels used in the batch. This bottle, from the 12-year-old 2009 edition, comes from a 98-barrel batch drawn from a middle floor of the distillery’s Warehouse B, a relatively small one, and an upper floor of a much larger one, Warehouse J.
