This ‘Explorer Edition’ complete uniform was worn by Sabrina Ionescu on February 17, 2024, during the WNBA vs NBA 3-Point Challenge against Stephen Curry during the 2024 State Farm All-Star Saturday Night.

After almost a year of buildup, the world's two top shooters finally came head-to-head. Sabrina Ionescu, having set a record by scoring 37 out of 40 points in the 2023 WNBA 3-Point Contest — a feat unparalleled in both the NBA and WNBA — challenged Curry, leading to a highly anticipated matchup. Curry accepted the challenge in January 2024, setting the stage for the first-ever WNBA vs NBA 3-Point Challenge.

Ionescu, shooting from the NBA 3-point line, kicked off with an outstanding start. She successfully hit her first 7 shots and managed to score 9 out of 10 through the initial two racks. When the timer ended, she had racked up 26 points, hitting 8 of her 9 'money balls.' Her score equaled the top score of the NBA 3-Point Contest, once again affirming her position as one of the world's elite shooters.

Going Deeper | Sabrina Ionescu

Before joining the WNBA, Sabrina Ionescu was a star at the University of Oregon. A versatile guard, Ionescu went on to set several NCAA records across both men's and women's basketball, finishing her career as the only Division 1 athlete to record 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 1,000 assists. She is the career leader for triple-doubles, recording nearly twice as many as the next closest player, and holds the record for assists in the Pac-12 conference. She left a massive effect on the basketball program at Oregon, raising their profile nationally and contributing to a consistent rise in home attendance each year.

Ionescu was selected with the first overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty. The two-time All-Star has continued to improve each season at the WNBA level, bringing the Liberty back to the WNBA Finals for the first time in over 20 years. Ionescu and reigning league MVP Breanna Stewart have the Liberty riding sky-high expectations for the 2024 WNBA season.

At the time of cataloging, Ionescu has career averages of 15.7 points per game, 6.1 rebounds per game, and 5.9 assists per game.
