Sapphire and diamond brooch/pendant, circa 1900


Designed as a stylised openwork flower, the stamen set with a cushion-shaped sapphire within a double border of rose diamonds, the petals set with oval sapphires, enhanced with cushion-shaped and rose diamonds, supporting a detachable pendant set with a kite-shaped sapphire and a buff-top oval sapphire, three small diamonds deficient.


Accompanied by SSEF report no. 131264, stating that the sapphires are of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating.
