Gold, sapphire, ruby and diamond locket, circa 1900
The lid decorated with the word 'Granny' set-with calibré-cut sapphires and rubies and rose diamonds, the reverse engraved with a fleur-de-lys, opening onto a photograph of Princess Clémentine of Orléans, French maker's and assay marks for gold.
This locket belonged to Princess Eudoxia of Bulgaria (1898-1985). It opens to reveal a photograph of her paternal grandmother Princess Clémentine of Orléans, Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha-Kohary (1817-1907).
