Description

Collection of twenty-eight jewellery cases, early 20th century

Comprising twenty-eight jewellery cases including thirteen cases with inventory stickers for Robert, Duke of Württemberg (1873-1947), four cases with inventory stickers for Archduchess Maria Immaculata of Austria-Tuscany, Duchess of Württemberg (1878-1968), three cases with inventory stickers for Albrecht, Duke and Crown Prince of Württemberg (1865-1939), and one case with an inventory sticker for Carl Alexander, Duke of Württemberg (1896-1964), eleven illustrated.

Magnificent Jewels, Sotheby's Geneva, 14 May 2013, lot 364.
The blue fitted case with inventory sticker of Archduchess Maria Immaculata of Austria-Tuscany, Duchess of Württemberg (1878-1968) was likely intended to hold a garnet and diamond demi-parure inherited from her mother Princess Maria Immaculata of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (1844-1899). This demi-parure was offered in these rooms on 14 May 2013 as lot 364. The imprint in the case shows that the necklace had been somewhat altered over time.
