A Louis XV gilt-bronze mounted Chinese 'Clair de Lune' porcelain three-piece garniture, the porcelain 18th century, probably Qianlong (1736-1795)


the mounts with scroll and leaf ornaments, comprising a pair of vases each with a lobed-shaped body and a vase in the form of two conjoined carps


the pair: each 34cm. high, 15.5cm. wide; 1ft. 1½in., 6⅛in.

single vase: 35.5cm. high, 15.5cm. wide; 1ft. 2in., 6⅛in.

Acquired by Samuel Cunliffe-Lister, 1st Baron Masham of Swinton (1815-1906), circa 1890 for Swinton Park, North Yorkshire;

thence by descent to his grand-daughter and heir Mary Constance "Molly" Boynton (d.1890-1974), who married Philip Lloyd-Greame (who took the name Cunliffe-Lister), later 1st Earl of Swinton, and by descent to the Trustees of the Lord Swinton Will Trust.
