The artist's homestead, Trego Farm, was located on Windybush Road in Bucks County near Pineville, Pennsylvania. The Trego family arrived with William Penn and proliferated in Chester as well as Bucks Counties. This particular farm remained in the Trego family from 1736 to approximately 1869 and is where the artist was born. Other works by Trego presently hang in the Bucks County Court House. A similar painting is signed by the artist on reverse My Homestead, painted October 15, 1850, J.K. Trego is in the collection of the Bucks County Historical Society, Mercer Museum, Doylestown, Pennsylvania (acc. no. 88.13.001).
