Kitae [forging pattern]: itame hada

Hamon [tempering pattern]: broad notare with rich nioi

Boshi [tip]: yakitsume

Nakago [tang]: ubu, one mekugi-ana

Habaki [collar]: oxidised silver, single clad

In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard]

Koshirae [mount]: the fine silver mount with elegant fittings, including finely detailed menuki of chrysanthemums, the kojiri modeled as mushrooms in shunga style, with an openwork panel inset with lacquered wood panels

Nagasa [length from kissaki to machi]: 8.5 cm., 3⅜ in.

Moto-haba [width at the machi]: 2.1 cm., ¾ in.


Accompanied by a certificate of registration as Hozon Tosogu [Sword Mount Worthy of Preserving], no. 4017285 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword], dated Reiwa 2 (2020).
