Charles II Needlework Casket

Second Half 17th Century


In the shape of a miniature collector's cabinet, the four sides, depicting Rebecca at the well, Eleazer fetching Rebecca, Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac, Hagar and Ishmael being banished, and Sarah with Isaac and Ishmael; the whole worked in satin, outline, French knot and other stitches.
