densely embossed and chased with grapevines, animals, flowers, and leaves on matted ground, lions rampant supporting a crown flanked by two griffons, the central doored compartment mounted with a Torah scroll, the doors engraved with leaves and Hebrew, the Tablets of the Law above, the shield hung on a silver chain, the border hung with two silver-gilt bells and marked with 12 above crossed emblems and makers mark EN twice 


Height with bells: 11 in., 28 cm

On the Torah ark: “Our father, our king, open the gates of the heavens to our prayers.”
