Widely hailed as the greatest closer in baseball history, Mariano Rivera sported this New York Yankees jersey during the 2004 MLB All-Star Game, which was played on July 13, 2004 at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. 

As the “Sandman” did so many times throughout his legendary career, Rivera pitched the 9th inning and recorded three straight outs to seal a 9-4 American League victory. 

Rivera spent his entire 19-year big league career with the New York Yankees. He earned 13 All-Star Game selections and helped the Yankees win five World Series titles (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2009). His 652 career saves is a MLB record. Rivera was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019 after becoming the first player in baseball history to be unanimously selected on the first ballot.
