Two silver-gilt and enamel icons, Moscow, 1899-1908 and 1908-1917


comprising:

-A silver-gilt and cloisonné enamel icon of St Seraphim of Sarov, maker's mark Cyrillic AIS, Moscow, 1899-1908

depicting the saint in half-length holding prayer beads to his chest, the corners mounted with enamel ornamentation featuring polychrome foliate scrolls over a cream ground, the raised halo also enamelled with stylised floral and foliate motifs, struck to the lower edge with maker's marks in Cyrillic, 84 standard; 31 by 26.5cm; 12 1/2 by 10 3/8 in.

-A silver-gilt and cloisonné and champlevé enamel icon of Christ Pantocrator, maker's mark EV, Moscow, 1908-1917

the two upper corners mounted with cloisonné polychrome opaque enamel ornamentation, the raised halo with champlevé enamel detailing, the filigree robes also with silver beading, struck to the lower edge with maker's mark in Cyrillic, 84 standard
