Description

The Who

Signed promo photograph, [Zurich, 27 February 1976]

Photographic print (236 x 177 mm) signed by Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, Keith Moon, and dated "Zch. 27. II. 76" in blue felt tip, printed caption reading "The Who" at foot, yellow and black printed backstage pass laid down on the verso and signed in an unknown hand; some smudging to signatures from composition, one or two stray blue stains to verso.

A portrait of the band signed on the night of their 27 February show in Zurich in 1976. The backstage pass laid down on the verso was issued for the same show as the date handwritten on the photo. The band's tours from 1975-1976 set a number of records, including for the largest indoor concert at the time (78,000 attendees at the Pontiac Superdome on 6 December 1975) and the world's loudest concert at the time (at The Valley on 31 May 1976). This was the band's last major tour prior to Keith Moon's death in 1977.
