The Beatles

Gold record presented by the RIAA for Can't Buy Me Love, ca. 31 March 1964

Gold record record and plaque (overall 400 x 295 mm) with white linen mat. Framed and glazed; not examined out of frame.

This gold record was presented by the RIAA to "The Beatles to commemorate the sale of more than one million copies of the Capitol Records pop single record 'Can't Buy Me Love.'" Can't Buy Me Love was their sixth single, and their third consecutive number one single, topping the charts in the United Kingdom, the United States, and beyond. It debuted at #27 on the Billboard charts, and then jumped to the #1 the following week—breaking the record for the fastest jump to the top spot from outside the top twenty. When it reached number, The Beatles held the all top five spots on the Hot 100.
