Reid's repurposing of a Belgian tourist brochure, with the original text replaced by Johnny Rotten's scabrous lyrics, is an example of the Situationist technique of détournement. The Belgian Tourist Company did not see Reid's engagement with radical traditions as an excuse for copyright infringement, and sued the band.
