Boiler Suit from the "Radio Ga Ga" music video shoot, signed by the band

Three-piece "paper" boiler suit including a pair of trousers, a long-sleeved top, and hood, signed in blue ballpoint by Freddie Mercury, in blue ink by Brian May, and in black ballpoint by John Deacon and Roger Taylor, signed additionally by May and Deacon, and by Queen manager Paul Prenter, and Queen Fan Club secretary Jacky Smith; some soiling and wear.

The boiler suit was worn by one of the 400 extras who participated in the filming of the music video for Queen’s "Radio Ga Ga." which took place at Shepperton Studios in Middlesex, England, on 24 November 1983. “Radio Ga Ga” was written by Queen’s drummer, Roger Taylor, and released as a single with "I Go Crazy," written by Brian May as the B-side. As MTV gained in popularity, and it seemed the visual would supersede the aural, the song was composed as a nostalgic homage to the format of radio. It was a smash hit, reaching number one in no fewer than 19 countries.

The music video for “Radio Ga Ga” was the work of David Mallet, and incorporated clips from—and the aesthetic of—Fritz Lang’s German expressionist masterpiece, Metropolis (1927). As Queen travels through Metropolis, the scenes are intercut with people sheltering in their homes, in what is presumably wartime, and listening to the radio, as well as footage form earlier Queen videos. The band then lands on stage, and performs in front of a crowd of individuals all wearing the identical boiler suit.

At the 1984 MTV Video Music Awards, the video for "Radio Ga Ga" received a Best Art Direction nomination.
