Grateful Dead
Shirt for their 15 April 1971 performance at Allegheny College
Size: Modern S: 24" L x 16.5" W; some minor staining and small holes.
One of the earliest Grateful Dead shirts.
The shirt was made for the band's April 15 performance at David Mead Field House at Allegheny College. The show was part of the Dead's April 1971 tour of Pennsylvania colleges. Though Allegheny was one of the smaller venues on the tour with its 2,000-seat gym, the show was overflowing with crowds of college students from Alleghney and the greater Pennsylvania area. The New Riders of the Purple Sage opened for the Dead.
