Description

Eagles

Eagles. Asylum Records: 1972

Pictorial gatefold sleeve (catalogue number SD 5054), signed by Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner; some creasing and edgewear, Beckett Authentication sticker to rear cover.

The record sleeve for Eagles, signed by the band. The sleeve for the Eagles' debut was originally planned to be a gatefold which would open to a poster at the center, featuring an image of the band on peyote around a campfire in Joshua Tree. But David Geffen, who had signed the band to his Asylum Records, felt that this would be too confusing and instead had the poster glued to the sleeve—resulting in the image of the band being upside down in the release, as seen here.
