The gold record for Brother and the Holding Company's Cheap Thrills. Their second record, Cheap Thrills is considered to be one of the masterpieces of the psychedelic sound of San Francisco. Released in 1968, It was the most successful album of the year, reaching number one on the Billboard charts in its eighth week and maintaining the top spot for eight (nonconsecutive) weeks. This was the band's final record with Janis Joplin as lead singer before she started her illustrious solo career.
