The recipient of this dedication copy was Hon. Henry C. Loudenslager, a Republican Party politician from New Jersey who represented the 1st congressional district from 1893 to 1911.

This prospectus was designed to offer a survey of the San Francisco region before structures for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition were built. Its introduction is compelling, reading in part, "Every one knows California's winter climate is unrivaled---they should realize that the summers are even more delightful..."

The Exposition took place 20 February to 4 December 1915, although years of planning, razing, and construction had to take place beforehand. Locations pictured in this album include Downtown San Francisco; the intersection of Post Street at Kearney; Lotta's Fountain; Hotel St. Francis; Hotel Fairmont; Golden Gate Park; Chinatown; San Francisco Bay; Mount Tamalpais; Yosemite Valley from Bridal Veil Meadows; the tree Wawona; Mount Shasta; Lake Tahoe; Mission San Miguel; the Grand Canyon; and more.
