From Pete Rose’s second professional season in 1964, this bat stands as a tangible testament to his instrumental role in the Cincinnati Reds' offensive lineup, on his way to becoming one of the greatest hitters of all time. A budding talent, Rose exhibited his hitting prowess and tenacious approach to the game that year, with a batting average of .269 with an on-base percentage of .319. He recorded 139 hits, including 13 doubles, 2 triples, and 3 home runs.
After his playing career, Rose would infamously receive a lifetime ban from baseball and was barred from the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame, despite a resume that would have made him a sure fire first ballot inductee.
In a third party assessment conducted by PSA/DNA, the bat earned a high mark of GU 8 and has a certification number of 1B12567. The autograph and inscription have been authenticated by James Spence Authentication.
