We are grateful to Dott.ssa Maria Silvia Proni for endorsing the attribution to Todeschini on the basis of digital images and for pointing out that the composition is analogous to a currently lost work by Todeschini depicting a young boy holding a pigeon, dated to circa 1705 and published by Ferdinando Arisi.1
