The canvas is lined, the paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear. The paint surface shows signs of abrasion notably in the sitter’s dress and hair. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals finely executed retouchings across the surface, notably in the background. The picture is in overall good condition.
