where acquired by the parents of the present owners 
James Baker Pyne was a painter in both oils and watercolour and from 1842 he was a member of the Society of British Artists. The present watercolour is a copy after J.M.W. Turner's oil painting that was commissioned by the architect, John Nash, and is now held at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.1
