Workshop or follower of Pantaleon with later interventions

This work closely follows a design exhibited at Galerie Charpentier, Paris, in 1953, first ascribed by Rodolfo Pallucchini to the obscure painter Pantaeleon.¹ In his seminal article about this artist, Pallucchini was the first to recognize a small group of panels of corresponding subject and compositions attributable to this painter, centered around a signed and dated work in a private collection, Paris.
