Attributed to Alonso Sánchez Coello

This painting can be compared on the grounds of quality and composition to a set of four miniatures attributed to the Spanish court painter Alonso Sánchez Coello in the Louvre, Paris.¹ Other comparable miniatures attributed to the artist can be found in the Meadows Museum, Dallas, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, respectively.² The sitter of this portrait bears a resemblance to Coello's portrait of Infanta Catalina Micaela of Spain (1567–1597) in the Prado, Madrid.³
