Princess Pauline Olga Helene Emma zu Wied, née Württemberg (1877-1965), daughter of King William II of Württemberg and Princess Marie of Waldeck and Pyrmont, and spouse of Prince William Frederick zu Wied;

thence by descent to Duchess Marie von Württemberg

The Württemberg model 1808 infantry rifle corresponded largely with the French model 1777 infantry rifle. It is one of the rarest guns ever made in Württemberg. Until 1813 a total of 5,000 rifles of this type were produced by the Königlich Württembergische Gewehrfabrik (Royal Württemberg Arms Factory) in Ludwigsburg and (from 1811) onwards in Oberndorf am Neckar. Many of these then were lost during Napoleon’s failed invasion of Russia, where others were converted in later years for other purposes.
