Description

A group of three South German horizontal table clocks


comprising: a Renaissance gilt brass horizontal cylindrical table clock, the case second half 16th century, the later movement 19th century, the 14 cm dial twice numbered 1-XII and 1-24, enclosing a finely floral engraved center, the pierced sides elaborately cast with grotesque mask cartouches, raised on three cherub feet, the loose bottom engraved with a hunting scene, the later two-train movement with a balance wheel platform escapement and rack striking on a surrounding bell, 7 cm high, 14,5 cm diameter;

 

 

a Baroque gilt brass horizontal hexagonal table clock, circa 1720-30, the 9,5 cm silvered chapter ring calibrated for hours, set on an engraved gilt surround, the movement with fusee and chain for the going train and engraved standing barrel for the strike, signed Johann Willibald Köberle, Eichstatt, with verge and balance escapement and engraved and pierced cock, the backplate mounted with a regulation dial, the case with glazed panels on all sides and raised three turned feet, the bell mounted in the hinged base, 9,5 cm high, 13 cm diameter;

 

and a Baroque gilt and silvered brass quarter hour repeating horizontal hexagonal table clock, circa 1700-20, the 6,5 cm silvered champleve chapter ring calibrated for hours and minutes, with a central alarm disk and set on an engraved gilt surround, with repeater button and two levers for strike/silent, the movement with fusee and chain for the going train and two engraved standing barrels for the strike and alarm, striking with three hammers on the bell mounted in the hinged base, with verge and balance escapement and engraved and pierced cock, the backplate mounted with a regulation dial, signed Peter Krenckel, Eichstatt, the case with glazed panels within engraved silvered frames on all sides and raised on three turned feet, 8,5 cm high, 11 cm diameter
