Yoshida Hiroshi (1876-1950)
Two woodblock prints
Showa period, 20th century
each a woodblock print, signed in ink in Japanese Yoshida, and in pencil in Roman script Hiroshi Yoshida, sealed Hiroshi, with artist's jizuri (self-printed) seal, and comprising:
- Evening in a Hot Spring (Onsen keiryu), titled in the lower left margin as above, dated Showa juyonen saku (made in 1939)
- Farmhouse (Noka), titled in the lower left margin as above, dated Showa juyonen saku (made in 1946)
Each horizontal oban:
26.7 x 40 cm., 10½ x 15¾ in. (the first)
27.4 x 40.3 cm., 10¾ x 15⅞ in. (the second)
The second print, Farmhouse, depicts a rustic interior near Narimasa in Saitama Prefecture, and is Yoshida's last print.
