Fleming had just returned from skiing in St Moritz when he discovered a copy of No Latitude For Error by Sir Edmund Hillary for him to review, sent by the Book Society's Gordon Grimley. It was, in fact, intended for his brother, the adventurer and travel writer Peter Fleming.
