Provisionally titled 'The Diamond Egg', Fleming's James Bond story is set in Sotheby's saleroom, and was commissioned by the auction house for their yearbook. Sotheby's Art at Auction features a newly printed version of the story, illustrated by Ron Bowen.

Kenneth Snowman, C.B.E. (1919-2002) was a renowned Bond Street jeweller, painter, chairman of Wartski, and a friend of Ian Fleming, who provided technical advice and who appears in-person in The Property of a Lady. This title, his definitive published work, is also mentioned in the story.
