The Submariner reference 1680 is the first of the lineage to feature a date complication and this red name on the dial was only produced for the first part of the production run. It is interesting to note that no other Submariner has featured the red Submariner text and it is also the only Submariner Date to feature an acrylic crystal. In wonderful overall condition, the present lot features a Mark IV which can be distinguished by its feet first indication, the open sixes and the unaligned 'f' and 't'.
