The present lot is the perfect showcase of Piaget's golden era of design during the 60s and 70s. Worn as a cuff, the watch is as much a jewellery piece as a timepiece. Adorned with a turquoise dial and set with two rows of turquouise cabochons, the hammered gold frame provides a fabulous contrast heightening what is already an incredibly elegant and sophisticated piece. It effortlessly combines an extravagance and a simplicity that epitomises this era of design, an era in which Piaget, as the present lot demonstrates, absolutely flourished.
Pieces such as the present lot are always created in very limited series, if not one off production. The exquisite craftsmanship alone ensures that this piece, should other examples exist, is unique in its own right.
