The Day-Date reference 6611 is the second generation of the "President's Watch". In 1956, Rolex introduced the 6510 which however, could have the movement further improved. Shortly in a year, the reference 6611 was introduced with the upgraded calibre 1055, housing a new balance wheel. This was also the first instance that Rolex would have the text “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” featured on the dial. The present example is cased in yellow gold and features a beautiful Pie-Pan dial along with alpha hands. The bracelet on the other hand is very attractive, features the "big logo" and initials "Y.M.", rendering it very distinctive and highly collectible.
