In 2014, Patek Philippe unveiled Reference 5275P as part of their 175th anniversary celebration. Drawing inspiration from its predecessor, Reference 3969 created for the brand's 150th anniversary, this timepiece features a captivating tonneau-shaped case and showcases a remarkable jumping hour display and a conventional minutes mechanism. However, Patek Philippe took innovation a step further with the development of the Caliber 32-650 HGS PS, composed of 438 meticulously crafted components. This exceptional movement not only also incorporates a seconds display but also an extraordinary striking mechanism. With each passing hour, the hammer gracefully strikes a gong, precisely synchronized with the instantaneous jump of the hour aperture. Additionally, the chime can be effortlessly deactivated using the convenient slide positioned at 10 o'clock. By integrating these additional features, Patek Philippe has elevated the functionality and allure of Reference 5275P, paying homage to their rich heritage while embracing modern advancements in watchmaking technology. The movement is housed in a 40 mm platinum case that has a floral motif decorated around the sides of the case and to the dial. The solid case back is further engraved “Patek Philippe Genève 175e Anniversaire 1839 - 2014."
