The current watch draws upon the aviating origins of the Big Pilot and links them the motor sports world - commemorating Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1’s outstanding feat as the first to achieve 8 successive constructor’s titles. A part of a limited series of only 100 units, the watch is quite unlike others in the market. Most strikingly, this timepiece is cased in Ceratanium, IWC’s signature titanium alloy that combines the scratch-resistance and sleek matte properties of ceramic with the lightweight durability of hardened titanium. Merging a tinted glass front and a skeletonized design, the dial provides a magnificent view of the intricate machinery powering the impressive perpetual calendar piece. The addition of the Petronas green hour markers and indices, references  the F1 team’s signature color. Likewise impressive, the watch's seven days power reserve further illustrates IWC's horological prowess.
