Debuted at Basel Fair in 1998, the Antiqua was Vianney Halter's first wristwatch, inspired by the themes of steampunk and the "future's past". Designed with his former partner Jeff Barnes, it captivates the spirit of Jules Verne's vision and H. G. Wells' time machine. It has an asymmetrical shape unseen before, the design had four portholes for the time, day, month, leap year and the date. In fact, it was Vianney Halter's idea to incorporate the perpetual calendar into the already sophisticated case profile. The case itself is extraordinary, built out of almost 130 parts including 104 rivets, each part hand finished by hand. The Antiqua is offered in various metals and the present watch is platinum. Its dials are only forged in rare metal, the present example exhibits a rare pink gold salmon dial, definitely a distinctive addition to any watch collection.
