In 2013, the debut of the Logical One marked a pivotal moment for horology. That year, it won the Men’s Complication Watch Prize at the prestigious GPHG, thanks to its captivating fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. At the heart of the watch was a meticulously handcrafted fusée-and-chain constant force mechanism, prominently displayed on the dial side of the movement, catapulting the brand into the spotlight.

While conventional fusée-and-chain systems feature a cone-shaped pulley and a towering barrel for chain winding/unwinding, the Gauthier Logical One deviates from the norm. It employs a miniature chain linked to a snail-shell shaped cam (taking the place of the customary cone-shaped fusée) on one end, and to the barrel on the other. Notably, the watch features an ergonomically designed winding pusher at 9 o’clock—an unprecedented departure from the conventional winding system operated via a crown. Positioned at 2 o’clock is a crown dedicated exclusively to setting the time, separating the winding and setting mechanisms.

Hammer personally requested Gauthier's signature—a process involving laser engraving followed by meticulous black filling—etched onto the case back, rendering this particular Logical One unique.
