Launched in 1998, the Patek Philippe reference 5070 marked a significant milestone as the brand's first exclusive chronograph wristwatch since the 1960s, following the discontinuation of the iconic reference 1463. This bold reentry into the chronograph-only line was underscored by the substantial 42 mm case diameter and the distinctive stepped bezel, paying homage to the revered reference 2512 with its impressive 46.2 mm dimensions. The 5070 seamlessly blends a range of influential design elements, from the Art Deco-era contours to the pronounced aviator-inspired aesthetic adorning the dial.

What sets the reference 5070 apart is its distinction as the final chronograph collection to house the renowned Lemania 2310 movement, before Patek Philippe transitioned to an in-house caliber with its successor, the reference 5170. The pink gold variant was in production from 2003 to 2007, with fewer than 1000 examples believed to have been made.
