Description
Freddie Mercury’s arrow vest made for the ‘Hot Space’ tour, 1982, and black vinyl stage-worn trousers, 1980s
A ribbed cotton vest, the front and back hand stencilled with a large black arrow outlined in red, label removed; and a pair of black vinyl jeans-style trousers, the exterior waistband labelled ‘King Jeans / Original Cowboy Style’, the right back pocket with ‘King’ label and ‘King’ tab, both with gold lettering on black; and a long red lurex shoelace
(3)
This arrow vest is typical of the type of arrow-themed costume Freddie had made for the ‘Hot Space’ tour, 1982; to date this has not been photo-matched to any of the stage-worn vests, though it is possible it was worn on stage but not photographed.
For similar arrow vests, see lots 217, 2152-2154; for arrow jackets see lots 56 and 57.
