Freddie Mercury’s Japanese kimono-style jacket



a Japanese kimono-style jacket of black silk woven with a multi-coloured pattern of folding fans [an auspicious Japanese symbol] decorated with flowers and foliage including chrysanthemums, peonies, bamboo and plum, the label with Japanese lettering translated as ‘AIZENYA’, possibly the name of a shop or manufacturer


Freddie was photographed wearing this jacket during an interview, probably in Copenhagen, 12 May 1977.
