the long-sleeved robe in plain purple silk weave, decorated in stencil dye (kata-yuzen) with chrysanthemums and bamboo above waters, the spray rising as mist among the foliage, the reverse emblazoned with mokko tomoe mon ['comma' shapes within stylised melon crests]
