An ivory vinyl blouson-style jacket, gathered at the waist with cream grosgrain ribbon and metal buckles either side, the sides of the sleeves and front pockets trimmed with white cotton strips with hook and eye fastenings, lined in cream satin, unlabelled [the ivory vinyl has yellowed to beige]; with two corresponding waistcoats, one of ivory satin with black grosgrain ribbon to back with metal buckles at waist, the right front side similarly trimmed with grosgrain ribbon and hook fastening, the other of bronze satin with white grosgrain ribbon to back with metal buckles and white cotton strips with hook and eye fastening right front side and shoulders, both unlined and unlabelled; and a pair of mid-blue denim Levi straight leg jeans, ‘Levi Strauss & Co’ label to rear waistband, the right back pocket with white and red ‘Levi’s’ tab [interior care label printed ‘Size 076 84 / Made In Australia’

This jacket (which looks white in photographs of Freddie wearing it) can be seen in the photograph used for the front cover of the single ‘Save Me’, released in January, 1980 from the album The Game; the jacket was also worn for publicity photographs associated with the related tour, June – December, 1980, one of which was used for the concert poster at Madison Square Garden, New York, 28–30 September.

Lot 59 includes a photograph of Freddie wearing this jacket in Japan, with the Hawaiian shirt in Lot 2103, Crazy Little Things II.
