Freddie Mercury’s casual shirts including the 'Bird' shirt worn in Ibiza

A group of eight shirts, majority cotton, various fabrics, colours and patterns, comprising four short-sleeved and four long-sleeved, labels include ‘Jun’ (2), ‘Adidas’, and ‘Manuel Ritz Pipo’, some unlabelled including one of the short-sleeved shirts printed with a repeat pattern of tropical birds and ‘Ibiza’ – Freddie wore this shirt whilst in Ibiza for his 41^st birthday celebrations, photographer Richard Young captured a photograph of Freddie wearing this shirt with Anita Dobson at Pikes Hotel, September, 1987 – see also lots 2286 and 2274 for the shirts Freddie wore at the pre-party and birthday party at Pikes – this legendary party became known as the ‘party to end all parties’.
