the backrests with inlaid rosewood marquetry centred by a mask in profile, the back splats with a gilt-bronze mount depicting either a wreath or an eagle, the knees with sphinx-form gilt-bronze terms, the sabre legs with paw-form gilt-bronze facings, the drop-in seats with later teal shot-silk upholstery
