The Last Drop is a spirits company that acquires casks of ultra-rare whiskey, cognac and rum, then bottles them in very limited releases. It is owned by Sazerac, the same company that owns the Buffalo Trace Distillery. In 2000 the distillery managers selected a 20-year-old barrel of bourbon and transferred the liquid to stainless-steel tanks, to keep it from aging further. There it sat for another 20 years before being offered by the Last Drop in a 240-bottle run. Each comes in a bespoke wooden box with a 50cl sampler, so that one doesn’t have to open the bottle to enjoy this historic bourbon.
