Many of the early releases of A.H. Hirsch appeared in small batches, which Julian Van Winkle III bottled on an almost order-by-order basis. There was little consistency in label design, and as a result, there is great variety among the early bottlings. This bottle is a case in point: Though it is the same age as the previous Hirsch releases, its label shows the Hirsch name in a stylized cursive script – a small difference that nevertheless makes this bottle a prized possession.
