Description

Petrus 1964

Pomerol

u. hs, bin-soiled, damp-stained and wine-stained label, signs of old seepage, slightly oxidized capsule, ex-Sotheby's Aulden Cellars

In 2018, deep crimson colour to the rim. Astonishing - but this bottle was bought very young and then stored in a cold, damp cellar. Concentrated cassis, black cherry and tobacco nose. Then, more woodsmoke. On the palate, irony and velvety, with a touch of volatile which is utterly part of its persona and its epoch. The juiciness is amazing and the texture leaves its memory all over the mouth. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
