The Cartier Tank was created in 1917. Since its introduction, it is recognized as one of the most beautiful timepieces ever created thanks to its perfect proportions and the timeless design of its dial.

The present lot is a perfect example of the elegance of the Tank in its purest form.

Furthermore, collectors will immediately spot the painted dial with a font different to the one they usually see on the Paris creations. Indeed, the watch was part of the more confidential production made in London.

The construction of the case with the screws hidden between the lugs to elegantly maintain the case back is typical of that production.

Furthermore, the watch bears the English hallmarks for 18ct gold London 1971, while the clasp is stamped for 1972.
